Thanksgiving is often a time for family connection, but for Olivia, this year’s celebration became a cause of heartache. With the intention of creating a memorable gathering for her grandchildren, she extended an invitation to her son’s first wife. Unfortunately, a heated confrontation turned the holiday into a disaster. Therefore, Olivia sought our help to navigate the emotional aftermath.
Olivia’s letter:
I secretly invited my son’s ex-wife to our Holiday dinner. His new wife wanted to kick her out but I shouted, “She deserves to be here more than you! They share kids together!” The new wife felt offended and left the house.
Hours later, the police came. I froze in sh0ck when we found out that someone had made an anonymous call, reporting a loud family dispute and concerns for the children’s safety.
I almost fainted when they told me that they will take my son to the station for questioning.
Our peaceful Thanksgiving was ruined, turning into a tragic memory. The police eventually realized the children were never in danger and released my son.
My daughter-in-law later admitted that she made the call to sabotage the evening because she felt unwelcome in her own house. I never imagined she’d be so vindictive.
I only wanted my grandkids to have a nice Thanksgiving with their mother. Did I do something wrong?
