Donald Trump’s attempt to kiss wife Melania’s face today for his inauguration was attracted attention by an aspect of her clothing.
Outgoing president Joe Biden and former VP Kamala Harris attended the inauguration to receive their welcome into the festivities.
Trump’s family, including his five children and Melania, were already awaiting him at the time, after which Trump approached them.
The President-elect then attempted to kiss his wife, only to be hampered by her wide-brimmed hat in a disaster.
One viewer commented: “I’ve just realised why Melania is wearing that wide-brimmed hat – it made it impossible for Trump to land his attempted kiss….Smart woman…”
Another noted: “Trump attempting to kiss Melania but the brim of her hat got in the way. That was strange”.
The mother-of-one’s black and white get-up had already caused concern online today – particularly with regards to her questionable headwear.
In reality, some users watching from home even went as far as to compare her hat to none other than Beyoncé’s iconic ‘Formation’ outfit.
The hit track appeared on the singer’s 2016 Lemonade album with the accompanying music video showing Bey rocking a similar wide-brim black hat which also covered a significant amount of her face.

A fourth echoed: “Not Melania gettin into formation.”
Melania told Fox: “I feel I was always me the first time as well, I just feel that people didn’t accept me maybe.
“Maybe some people, they see me as just a wife of the president, but I’m standing on my own two feet, independent. I have my own thoughts.”
She added: “I have my own yes and no. I don’t always agree with what my husband is saying or doing. And that’s OK.”
