A baby’s birth is always a cause for celebration, especially when it comes time to see them in person after months of anticipation. Even though ultrasounds allow us to glimpse our babies in the womb, nothing compares to holding them for the first time.
Babies can surprise us with their distinct characteristics, such as charming dimples or a full head of hair. The most shocking development occurs when the newborn does not resemble its parents. On February 17, she gave birth to her son Cash Jamal Buckman. People noticed that Rachel and her fiancé, Paul Buckman, are both white, although Cash appears to be black. The truck stop shared a photo of the happy family on Facebook, wishing Rachel well with her new baby. “Congratulations to our cashier Rachel and her fiancé Paul Buckman on their baby Cash Jamal Buckman being [born] on Saturday at 6:18pm,” the title of the post said.
But instead of happy responses, the post received comments questioning Cash’s fatherhood, with some claiming that Paul is not the true father. Because of the rumors, Celina 52 Truck Stop updated their post to say, “Yes, Paul is the father. Rachel carries African American DNA, which can pass down through generations and result in a child having darker complexion.
They also mentioned that Cash may have jaundice, which is common in infants, and concluded the article with the words “Please be kind.” Even when the truck stop provided an answer, questions and jokes circulated online. Someone commented, “Congratulations!!!” I’m sure he looks just like his father. “Where is he?” “Definitely needs a DNA test; what if they accidentally mixed up the kiddos in the nursery?” another person said.
At the same time, several people felt bad for Paul. One member said, “I feel sorry for Paul; being duped like this is a whole new level of creep.” Hopefully, he’ll catch on.” Rachel decided to take action on her own. To demonstrate her ancestry, she shared what she believed were her DNA findings on Facebook. “For those who claim I don’t have black DNA, perhaps my heritage DNA results would clear things up!!!!
STOP slandering my and [fiancé] Paul Buckman’s names. “He is Lil Cash’s father,” she wrote. However, the jokes continued, and many of them mocked the scenario and questioned the test results. “That’s the most powerful 1% I’ve ever seen…” Someone said, “This looks like a job for Maury.”
