King Charles sends Prince Harry clear message with key gesture during VE Day celebrations

According to an expert, King Charles and the wider Royal Family subtly conveyed a significant message to Prince Harry through their united appearance on the Buckingham Palace balcony during VE Day commemorations.

The event, held on May 5, marked the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II in Europe and included the traditional Red Arrows flypast.

King Charles and Queen Camilla were accompanied by the Prince and Princess of Wales and their three children—Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis—as well as other senior royals: Prince Edward and Sophie, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh; Princess Anne and her husband, Timothy Laurence; and the Duke of Kent.

Body language expert Judi James suggested the family’s balcony presence was a powerful display of unity and strength. Speaking to the Mirror, James explained that such public appearances typically present the monarchy at its most authoritative and cohesive, projecting a message of enduring stability as they overlook cheering crowds.

She added that the timing of this display was especially meaningful, possibly responding to fresh criticisms from Montecito, where Prince Harry and Meghan Markle reside. “This confident, stoic appearance showed the Royal Family’s trademark resilience,” she said.

James also observed a tender moment between Princess Anne and King Charles.

As the national anthem played, Anne, who had been engaging her brother in conversation during the flypast, seemed to notice Charles nearly exiting too early. She gently patted his back, appearing to remind him to stay put—an act James interpreted as Anne subtly looking out for her brother.

Meanwhile, King Charles and Queen Camilla were reportedly in good spirits leading up to the events. Buckingham Palace emphasized that the focus remained on honoring veterans and celebrating their legacy without distractions, hoping the historic milestone would be marked with joy and solemn respect.

In contrast, Prince Harry made headlines shortly before the celebration with a revealing BBC interview, where he spoke of his strained relationship with his father. He expressed uncertainty about King Charles’s health and his desire to reconcile, following a legal defeat regarding his security arrangements in the UK.

Harry claimed his safety was compromised due to the court ruling, making it difficult for him to return to Britain. He also accused the establishment of orchestrating the legal outcome.

In response, Buckingham Palace stated that the security case had been thoroughly reviewed by the courts multiple times, each with the same conclusion.
