Fans of Meghan Markle have taken to X to express their outrage after Prince William partnered with one of her most outspoken cri.tics, Jeremy Clarkson.
William is set to appear in an episode of Clarkson’s Farm after meeting Kaleb Cooper, one of the show’s stars, on Wednesday. During their conversation, William revealed that his 11-year-old son, Prince George, is a big fan of the popular series.
Jeremy Clarkson, the former Top Gear host, previously caused a firestorm in 2022 with a controversial opinion piece in which he wrote about Meghan. The article received over 20,000 complaints to the press regulator Ipso, making it their most complained-about piece.
Following the backlash, The Sun removed the article from its website and issued an apology to the Duchess of Sussex, now 43. Clarkson later expressed regret, saying he was “horrified” at the pain his words had caused.
However, Prince Harry and Meghan dismissed The Sun’s apology as a “PR stunt.” They argued that a true apology would involve a fundamental shift in the publication’s editorial standards.
When news broke that William had visited Clarkson’s Diddly Squat Farm in Oxfordshire and would feature on an episode of Clarkson’s Farm, supporters of the Sussexes voiced their disappointment.
One user on X wrote, “Shame on Prince William for working with Jeremy Clarkson after the vile things he said about his brother’s wife…”
Another posted, “Prince William appearing on Clarkson’s Farm is a slap in the face to Meghan Markle, considering what Clarkson wrote about her.”
Others accused William of indirectly supporting Clarkson’s offensive remarks. “By doing this, William is effectively endorsing Clarkson’s vile comments. And Clarkson didn’t even apologize to Meghan personally,” one user argued. Another simply called the collaboration “gross and disgusting.”
During his chat with Kaleb Cooper, William shared a lighthearted moment about his son’s enthusiasm for the show. “You’ve got George watching now,” he said. “I asked him, ‘What should I say if I meet Kaleb?’”
Revealing George’s response, William added, “He said, ‘Tell Kaleb to mind his language.'”
